Saving an animal won't change the world but it will change the world for that one animal

My pets have inspired my passion for animal welfare. Specifically, a senior cat named Wilson that adopted us in 2016. My adoption experience at the shelter was my first insight into the care provided by shelters like theirs and the need for humans to provide a voice to these animals. It was also the first time I realized that senior pets have so much to offer and are often overlooked. as are those with behavioral or medical issues.

My weekly committment volunteering at the shelter has brought an immense amount of compassion into my life. Compassion for all animals and an understanding of the needs in my community.

Wilson also inspired me to become a foster mom for cats and kittens and I am currently bottle feeding my 68th kitten. I continue to educate myself on animal welfare through Fear Free Certification and I am an ASPCA National Field Responder .
